Section 6
Work, Duties and Rights of Pragya Pratishthan
The work, duties and rights of Pragya Pratishthan shall be as follows:-
(a) Study, research and development and promotion on the basis of priority in various subjects of science and technology.
(b) To provide support to the Government of Nepal in formulating and implementing policies related to technology transfer.
(c) Conducting programs in a coordinated manner with indigenous or foreign scientific and technological agencies.
(d) To provide services by developing a central document and information system related to science and technology (e) To organize and conduct seminars, conferences, etc. on science and technology subjects and to publish and conduct various publications related to science and technology.
(f) Establishing, expanding and strengthening relations with regional or international and other foreign organizations related to science and technology and exchange mutual cooperation.
(G) Obtaining and mobilizing financial, technical and other support from national and international bodies for the operation of Pragya Pratishthan and work related to science and technology.
(h) Appreciating and encouraging individuals or organizations who have made outstanding contributions to the development, promotion or use of science and technology.
(j) To raise awareness among the public about the utility and usefulness of science and technology, and to create a favorable environment for increasing the use of science and technology.
(j) Studying the programs and achievements of national bodies related to science and technology and preparing periodical reports.
(k) To give suggestions to the Government of Nepal regarding science and technology development program.
(l) To give an opinion to the Government of Nepal regarding the establishment of a new agency or laboratory for the research and development of science and technology (d) To provide financial or technical support as prescribed for the development of any laboratory or agency related to science and technology within the country.
(d) To establish a display room of the best inventions and samples related to science and technology.
(n) To carry out other necessary works to fulfill the purpose of Pragya Pratishthan.
